If you are interested in a partial or complete smile makeover, dental veneers might be right for you! Veneers can make your smile brighter, whiter, straighter and more beautiful by simply covering cosmetic flaws. Veneers are extremely thin shells that fit over your teeth to create a natural, aesthetic look that can improve your smile and boost your self-esteem. Veneers can correct a number of cosmetic dental flaws, including:

  • Gapped teeth
  • Irregularly-shaped teeth
  • Chipped or worn teeth
  • Discolored or stained teeth
  • Misaligned teeth

We provide custom-made dental veneers which are carved from porcelain and other tooth-colored materials to ensure that your new smile is functional and beautiful. After removing a small amount of tooth tissue, our dentists will bond the veneers to the front surface of your teeth to transform your smile.

Some of the more common uses of dental veneers are for the following:

A Single Tooth

We are often requested to place a single veneer over a tooth that was misshapen or discolored from being chipped or broken in an accident. These teeth may have been repaired when you were young, but the repair has simply not aged well over time. Old composite restorations can look brown, dingy, or opaque and cause you to hold back your smile. A veneer restores the natural translucency and color that matches the surrounding teeth, and restores your confidence.

The Center Two

If all you want for Christmas is your two front teeth, we can help you out at any time of the year! The center two front teeth, whether top or bottom, may be restored with veneers to adjust the color and shape, or to close a gap, whether natural – called a diastema, or as the result of your teeth spreading over time. Some people identify with their diastema as a key facet of their appearance, others – not so much. If the gaps between your teeth affect more than just the front two, you may be drawn to restore.

The Front Four

Using dental veneers to restore the top front four teeth provides us with the opportunity to create a natural-looking curve from one side of your smile to the other. We can match the shape of your existing teeth, or reshape them in whichever aesthetic you prefer. More rounded teeth tend to look more youthful, but your smile may look more natural with crisper corners. Dr. Dan has a very highly developed sense of aesthetics, and will help you choose the shape and shade that looks the best to you.

The Social Six

From canine to canine – that’s what we call the social six! These are the teeth the show most prominently when you smile. If your goals include brightening the color of your smile, we may recommend doing a course of tooth whitening before you proceed with veneers so that we can match the lighter color. Your veneers will never stain, but the neighboring teeth may need a whitening refresher now and then!

Furthermore, when we create veneers for you, we have the opportunity to make them here, in-house, using the CEREC one-visit restoration technology. The CEREC machine uses advanced scanning technology to design the restoration, eliminating the need for messy impressions. We then send the scan to a 3D-carving apparatus in our on-site lab that carves your veneers out of a block of high-quality porcelain matched to your individual tooth color.

This technology allows our team to provide you with a custom-made, high-quality dental restoration in a single visit to our office. Traditional dental techniques require at least two visits to complete many dental restorations; CEREC technology may save you time and discomfort by eliminating the need for a second visit. When you properly care for your veneers, then they can give you a stunning smile for many years to come.
