Spring break is quickly approaching, which means you finally get a break from school, work and other responsible life-related things. However, this doesn’t mean you get a break from your smile. In fact, you will never get a break from your smile. It’s very important to clean and care for your teeth and gums regularly so you can have the top-notch oral health you deserve. Our dentists, Drs. Holmes and Holmes, are happy to help you know how to care for your smile this spring break. It’s best to do the following things:
-Pack your oral hygiene tools: Don’t forget to pack your toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss and mouthwash before you head out the door. These things will help you keep a strong and healthy smile while you’re on the road. Remember: If you’re traveling by plane, you can’t pack liquids that weigh more than 3.4 ounces.
-Clean your smile: You have your oral hygiene tools in your bag, so use them! It’s very important to remember to clean your smile regularly, no matter how busy you are on your trip. Make sure to brush twice a day, floss once a day and rinse daily.
-Wear a mouthguard: A mouthguard can help you when you’re participating in high-contact sports and activities, like surfing, sand volleyball and more. The mouthguard can absorb the force when you suffer a blow to the face and can help you avoid injuries, like knocked-out and broken teeth.
